The Rouses Point Civic Center located at 39 Lake Street is a major North Country recreational facility. The Civic Center was built in 1978. Upgrades to the building in 1996 made the building available for year around use. The ice arena is open during the winter season, October 1 st through March 30 th. A Village owned pro shop sells hockey and figure skating supplies as well as providing skate sharpening services. The North Country Youth Hockey Organization rents and operates the arena's concession stand during the winter season providing food and beverages for the arena's participants and audiences. The current ice rental is $100.00 per hour for what many participants call the best quality ice in the North Country . Public skating throughout the winter season is available to the public at $2.00 per person. The public skating schedule is posted on the Village's website home page and at the Civic Center . Copies of the schedule are available at the Village Office.
During the summer season the Civic Center has hosted many events since the upgrade of the facility including dances, trade shows, 4 th of July Celebration events, as well as the Clinton County Republican Dinner, attended then by Governor George A. Pataki. The Center also plays host to the Boston-Montreal-Boston (BMB) annual bicycle race. The annual Biking for Miracles Motorcycle Ride benefiting the Children Miracle Network for cancer uses the facility as its departure point. The facility has two baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, a playground, and an outdoor gazebo for family gatherings.
