The Village Rouses Point-Champlain Historical Society The Rouses Point-Champlain Historical Society is currently working with the Village to restore the D & H Railroad Station and create a museum dedicated to the significant history of our beautiful village on Lake Champlain.
The Society, formed in October of 2000, was the dream of Sandy Kelley, who served as its first president. The State Education Department issued our charter in 2001.
The mission of the Rouses Point-Champlain Historical Society is to promote knowledge of the Northern Tier, its customs and its people through historically and culturally diverse programs, performances and lectures designed to broaden understanding of the Lake Champlain corridor's significance in the growth of our nation.
Through education, it is our hope to encourage greater knowledge of the history of the Northern Tier. It is our intent to gather, preserve, and display books, papers, maps, photographs, clothing, and any other memorabilia relating to the history of our area. We invite all to join us in the pursuit of accurately chronicling our past, preserving our heritage for those who follow us, and create a center for education and entertainment.
A Not-for-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)3 organization. All contributions to the Historical Society are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.
