Emergency DIAL 911

Police Department
Rouses Point Police Department, 139 Lake Street, Rouses Point, NY 12979

The Rouses Point Police Department was established in April of 1877 with the appointment of the first Police Chief and one Constable.

After 140 years in operation, the Department still attempts to maintain the American "small town" exposure in this peaceful and beautiful village.

Today, the Department is comprised of one officer, Police Chief Scott R. Bechard who enforces federal, state and local statutes, as well as handle the demands of the community while maintaining a focus on community policing. The Village's school crossing guards fall under the jurisdiction of the Police Department during the school year. Because of the village's unique border location, the department is privileged to benefit from federal and state law enforcement resources which are readily available. Residents of the village enjoy an extremely low crime rate.

Police Patch  To contact the Police Chief Scott R. Bechard  call (518) 297-5502, extension 317 or 329 or e-mail at:
