Parks and Recreation Department

Parks and Recreation Department

The Parks and Recreation Department was created by the Village Board of Trustees on November 6, 2018 (Resolution No. 2018-15) to reflect the distinct attributes that the former Recreation/Civic Center Department managed.  In addition to the Rouses Point Civic Center being a major North Country recreational facility and site, the outdoor grounds include two baseball fields; soccer fields; basketball court; tennis courts; pickleball court; a playground; the Samuel de Champlain Center Stage; the Rouses Point Fitness Trail; and a gazebo for family gatherings.

Parks and Recreation maintain various parks located throughout the Village.  Maintenance and grounds keeping at the boat launch, Montgomery Street Pier, Rouse Park and Veterans' Park are done by the department.  All of the Department facilities and grounds are for pleasure and recreational use;  promoted by the Village of Rouses Point; and are visited by many people making the Village of Rouses Point a popular North Country recreational destination.
