Samuel de Champlain Center Stage
The Rouses Point Samuel de Champlain Center Stage is located on the Rouses Point Civic Center Grounds at
39 Lake Street, Rouses Point, NY
BACKGROUND
The Rouses Point Samuel de Champlain Center Stage was built in 2009 and made possible in part from funds received from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Environmental Protection Agency and from the very generous donations of businesses, organizations and individuals in the community. This stage was constructed by Marvin Bechard (Bechard Construction) and the ramp by Rick Baker (RA Construction).
The Friends of the Stage is continually raising funds to improve the Stage and to establish a fund for entertainment in future years. Blue bins have been placed in the Civic Center parking lot and Academy Street Extension by the Adirondack Clothing Company for the donation of good used, clean clothing, handbags, belts, shoes, sneakers, blankets, draperies, sheets, towels and stuffed animals. The Friends of the Stage receive revenue for these donated items which helps to fund stage entertainment.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Center Stage is host to a variety of entertainment acts throughout the summer season. Entertainment ranges from performances of the Adirondack Regional Theater, soloists, dancers, magicians, hypnotists and various styles of music bands.All entertainment is performed on the stage. In case of inclement weather, performances may be rescheduled. All entertainment is free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the shows. Refreshments will be available to purchase at each performance. Alcohol, pets and smoking are not permitted.
